The China Insurance Regulatory Commission plans to spend the next three years building an online platform on which insurance carriers will be expected to upload data about their businesses.

The uploading will begin before the platform is ready. The regulator wants to use 'Big Data' technology and cloud computing. The main idea behind the surveillance system is to clamp down on fraud and mis-selling among insurance intermediaries.
