Scorpio Founders Move To New Fields After Stepping Down

Founders of Seb Dovey and his wife Catherine (nee Tillotson) have found new berths since stepping down from the wealth management consultancy they built and ran for two decades. Catherine Dovey has been named new chair of Rosa, a UK fund for women and girls. The organisation says it is the first and only UK-wide fund for women, with a mission to leverage gender equality and social justice. It was set up in 2008 and has mobilized resources, made grants, championed better funding for women and convened partnerships to tackle issues facing women and girls. Dovey takes up her new role in January next year, taking over from Marilyn List, who stepped down from the chair position; she remains on the board. Since October this year, meanwhile, Sebastian Dovey has become part of a group of mentors guiding firms on the London Mayor’s International Business Programme. In June, Scorpio's parent company, McLagan - the former was acquired in 2014 - announced that Mark Miles, European head of wealth management at McLagan, was taking over leadership of Scorpio. (McLagan is part of Aon, the financial services group.) Dovey has been a regular commentator for this publication and also a valued source of advice about trends in the industry.
