, RBC Global Asset Management’s specialist fixed income manager, has appointed Julian Mueller (pictured) as director of its business development team.
Based in Munich, he will report to Michael Wolfram, head of institutional sales Germany and Austria. Mueller previously spent five years working for German asset manager DJE Kapital in Pullach, most recently as head of sales institutional clients. He started his career in 2007 with State Street Global Advisors in Munich. He holds an MBA from the Technical University of Munich and an undergraduate degree in business administration from Bocconi University in Milan.
His appointment follows several other appointments in the Munich office in 2021, reinforcing BlueBay’s commitment to strengthening its presence in northern Europe. “Julian has a wealth of knowledge and experience within business development roles and his addition will help us with our growth ambitions for this important region,” Wolfram said.
has appointed Ian Horswell as global head of business development within the fund services arm of its international operations. He is based in Jersey.
Having worked in the sector for more than 20 years, Horswell has a wealth of experience in funds from administering single asset holding vehicles to overseeing large complex structures. Prior to joining Suntera, he worked for multiple global organisations, including JTC, where he was responsible for European business development initiatives.
Horswell’s appointment is one of several moves made as Suntera seeks to expand its international funds practice. It follows on from the recent acquisitions made in Luxembourg and the licence granted in July by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) to provide fund administration services on the Island.

has appointed George Merrylees as a partner in its private client offshore team. His appointment is with immediate effect.
Merrylees’ areas of expertise are cross-border tax planning, asset structuring and succession. He acts for international high net worth individuals, trustees and family offices, with a particular focus on assisting fund managers, business owners, entrepreneurs. A specialist in his field, he is one of the few UK lawyers able to advise on complex matters in French. Alongside his legal practice, Merrylees sits on the Advisory Council of the French Chamber of Commerce, is the chairman of the Franco-British Society, and sits as an alumni representative on the Franco-British Young Leaders Board.
