Funk (pictured) will join from Schroders Investment Solutions where he is the chief investment officer. He was also CIO of Benchmark Capital from 2019 to 2021 and, before moving to the UK, he was chief executive at Cinnabar Investment Management in South Africa. “His breadth of experience across MPS, multi-asset and insourced solutions will bring a different perspective and ensure that PortfolioMetrix’s proposition keeps evolving. His proven track record of driving growth will help take our business to even greater heights,” PortfolioMetrix UK managing director Ben Peele said. PortfolioMetrix – which describes itself as “a high energy, results-driven global investment management business” – has offices in London, Dublin, Johannesburg, Cape Town and California. PineBridge Investments Schneider, who has been appointed head of Switzerland, will be responsible for developing and implementing PineBridge’s sales strategy in the Swiss institutional and intermediary markets. He will also cover Liechtenstein and the Austrian intermediary market. Prior to joining, he spent almost 10 years at BNY Mellon, most recently as head of wholesale, where he was responsible for institutional and wholesale business development in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Austria. Prior to this, Schneider started his career in advisory and wealth management at Coutts & Co. Quinn has been appointed head of Intermediary Sales, UK. Based in London, Quinn will maintain and develop relationships with key intermediary investors in the UK, an area where the firm said it sees considerable room for expansion. Prior to PineBridge, Quinn spent seven years at Robeco, most recently as global wholesale and financial institutions manager. Zaidi joins the Switzerland team in Zurich as a senior client relations associate. She will concentrate on relationship management with both new and existing clients. Formerly from Muzinich & Co, she has worked at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Swisspartners AG. “The UK and Swiss markets are of key importance to our EMEA business, so I am excited and extremely confident that all three new hires, with their deep sector expertise, will deliver tremendous value for our clients, as they seek to navigate an uncertain economic environment,” Mick Sweeney, CEO, EMEA, said.
