Opale Capital
France-based has completed the final closing of its first private equity secondaries fund, securing €140 million ($144.4 million), beating its initial target.

As a result of the fundraising, Opale Capital is launching the second vintage of its secondary private equity strategy, the firm said. Secondary strategies involve acquiring interests in private asset funds before they mature.

Launched in the summer of 2023, the Opale Capital Secondary Strategies fund invested in four strategies managed by the following firms: AlpInvest (a subsidiary of the Carlyle Group), Goldman Sachs Asset Management, HarbourVest Partners, and LGT Capital Partners.

The second vintage of the Opale Capital Secondary Strategies fund will concentrate on investments with platforms, including Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Lexington Partners, and Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

"We firmly believe that the current environment remains favourable for secondary strategies, which address structural needs for liquidity and diversification within private equity,” Paul Moreno Blosseville, president of Opale Capital, said.

The second vintage, which will be managed by Opale Capital, will be accessible in January; it requires a minimum investment of €100,000.
