Farrer & Co, the London-based law firm, has appointed three new partners - Keir Barrie, Nick Dunnell and Rhoddy Voremberg – along with Clive Lovatt as senior consultant. Mr Barrie joins the corporate team as a private equity and venture capital law specialist, and will be advising many entrepreneurial clients as well as extending the firm's services to investor clients. He has experience acting for both management teams and investors on transactions at all stages and his expertise covers cross-border transactions. Mr Dunnell specialises in onshore and offshore trusts and personal tax planning, including inheritance, capital gains and income tax. He advises trustees and individuals (particularly foreign domiciliaries) on tax, succession and wealth protection generally, including tax efficient structures for holding UK properties and other assets, and how to remit funds to the UK without undue exposure to tax. He also advises foreign resident individuals on pre-immigration planning and UK residents on becoming resident outside the UK. Rhoddy Voremberg advises on estate planning, UK trusts, succession and taxation. He specialises in advising landowners on preserving their estates, family succession, heritage property, land development and other aspects of the diversification of estate businesses. Meanwhile, Mr Lovatt, a construction lawyer, joins the property division as a consultant advising property developers and banks providing property finance. Farrer & Co now has 11 partners, including specialists within the banking and insolvency team.
