Throgmorton, a UK back office service provider to the investment management community, has hired Denis Jackson in the new role as business development director. The move comes as the firm looks to expand its client base into new markets and sectors within financial services.

Having already commenced his new role, Jackson will help identify new opportunities to add value to existing clients and identify new demand for the firm’s services, the firm said in a statement.

Jackson joins from Tibra Trading, a private technology proprietary trading business, where he served as regional general manager for Europe and the United States, and was responsible for implementing strategy across its full range of operating departments. Prior to this, he held a number of senior positions for Salomon Brothers/Citigroup, for a period of 19 years.

“The financial services industry continues to experience major changes and Throgmorton has a fantastic opportunity to broaden its footprint in order to respond to burning client need,” said Jackson.

Throgmorton provides outsourcing for the fund management industry, including several wealth management clients as it looks to move in to new sectors over the coming year. Often, the firm deals with start-ups and spin-outs of investment banks looking to outsource typical CFO responsibilities. This includes providing accountancy, tax, company secretarial, payroll and human resources services.
