Mourant Ozannes Names New Private Client Practice, International Trusts Head

Offshore firm has appointed Jim Edmondson, a former senior partner at Farrer & Co, to be head of its international trusts and private client practice. He will take up the role as a consultant on 1 May this year, working in London, the firm said in an emailed statement.
Edmondson takes up the post when the present holder of the role, Douglas Close, steps down. Close has held the position for three years.
A report by The Lawyer said Edmondson spent two years as joint senior partner for Farrers and also headed the firm’s private client team until he stepped down last May to become a consultant. He joined the firm in 2001 from Nabarro.
Mourant Ozannes, formed through the 2010 merger between Jersey firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune and Guernsey’s Ozannes has a team of private client lawyers advising on British Virgin Island, Cayman, Guernsey and Jersey law.
