, the UK arm of Japanese firm Nomura, has added Nick Payne as a Latin American portfolio manager to bolster its focus on the region.
The firm said the appointment follows continued demand for emerging markets equities across institutional and retail operations, and as such, will expand its product range in this space.
“Nick joins our established London-based team, which complements our wider emerging markets focus comprising over twenty investment professionals based on the ground across emerging Asia,” said Jonathan Bell, head of emerging market equities at NAM UK.
Payne, who will be working out of the firm’s London office, joins from Rexiter Capital Management where he was head of Latin American equities as well as managing emerging market equity portfolios. Prior to this, he managed RCM’s global emerging markets shariah strategy for Islamic investors and a sustainability-based emerging markets product.
Payne replaces Luciano Brandao, who left the firm earlier in 2013.
