Christopher Owen

5 September 2007

Andreas Buri, the recently-appointed chief executive of Zurich-based private bank Maerki Baumann & Co, has left the bank, according to local press reports. Mr Buri had been in the job for just two months. The reports say he left due to “operational differences”. His predecessor Arthur Bolliger will take up the role of chief executive until a successor can be found. Mr Buri joined Baumann after working for Basel-based CIAL Bank as chief executive. Previously he had worked in various senior roles at UBS. Maerki Baumann was founded in 1932 and is owned by the Syz family, one of the most powerful Swiss banking families.
