Carlyle Appoints New Indonesia Head

The Carlyle Group, the global alternative asset manager, has named a new managing director for the Asia buyout team.

Rajiv Louis will lead the company's investment advisory business in Indonesia after serving for almost 10 years at UBS, most recently as managing director and country head in Indonesia and head of investment banking in the same country.

In a statement, the firm said that Louis's appointment is in line with efforts to expand its business in the local market. This is a newly created post.

The Asia buyout team has total investment assets and commitments of $6 billion across Asia-Pacific ex-Japan as of 31 December 2012. As at the same date, The Carlyle Group has invested some $11 billion in the Asia-Pacific region.
