The governance solution provider has named Steve Bernat as the new boss of its Luxembourg office.
Carne Group, a provider of governance solutions for the asset management industry, has appointed Steve Bernat as chief executive of its Luxembourg business.
Bernat joins from Luxembourg-based Lemanik Asset Management, where he was a member of the firm's executive committee, responsible for business development, marketing and distribution services. He previously worked at Citibank’s securities and fund services division, where he held roles within operations, product management and business development.
Bernat takes on the newly-created role in Carne's Luxembourg office, which opened in 2006. His appointment comes as part of the firm's drive to strengthen its independent management company business in Grand Duchy.
“Steve will be overseeing the ongoing development of our already considerable Luxembourg operation, including the growth of our independent UCITS and AIFM-licensed management company and associated risk management and distribution support,” said Carne Group's chief executive, John Donohoe.
“Luxembourg will continue to play a key role in the overall global governance and oversight service we deliver to our clients.”
The Luxembourg office currently employs over 20 people and services more than €20 billion ($22 billion) in fund assets.
