DeVere Group Names New Chairman

UK-based deVere Group has promoted a non-executive director to its top team.

Financial advisory firm deVere Group has appointed Peter Hobbs to the newly-created role of chairman.

Hobbs joined the firm's board of directors in 2013 in a non-executive role, having previously served as director of Generali International and Generali Pan Europe, responsible for the Generali Group’s strategic innovation programmes and developments in more than 60 countries worldwide.

He will work alongside the firm's chief executive, Nigel Green, and its chief operating officer, Beverley Yeomans. He will guide, review and further develop deVere’s global strategy and business plans.

“He has a robust record in managing and leading organisations, a thorough regulatory understanding of the sector and, through his role as a non-executive director, a strong empathy with our culture and commitment to serving clients. We’re thrilled he has decided to take on the role of deVere Group chairman,” said Green.

With a network of over 70 offices worldwide, deVere Group has over 80,000 clients and $10 billion of assets under advisement. Earlier this year, it launched a tax consultancy to specialise in US, UK and international tax compliance and planning.
