Digital Digest: The Latest Tech News - Raffles Family Office, Canopy

The latest tech news in wealth management across the world.

Raffles Family Office
Raffles Family Office has partnered with fintech firm Canopy, according to media reports. This latest deal adds to Canopy’s agreement with Credit Suisse last year.

The MFO – which despite its name is based in Hong Kong rather than Singapore - will be able to provide automated account aggregation and data analytics to clients and managers, reports said.

WealthBriefingAsia has contacted Canopy for further details and may update in due course. It was unable to obtain comment from Raffles Family Office at the time of going to press.

Raffles Family Office was also incorporated in Singapore last October. The MFO was founded by Chi Man Kwan, who is its chief executive. According to his public profile, the organisation was founded in July 2016. Prior to this, Chi Man Kwan worked at BNP Paribas in Hong Kong.

A report published at the end of January this year, and published on the MFO’s website, said that it expects to boost AuM to $10 billion and double its headcount over the next two years. The organisation is an example of how family office structures are evolving in Asia, a region which until recently was a young market for such entities. At present, Raffles Family Office oversees about $1.5 billion of AuM.
