EXCLUSIVE: Senior EFG Banker Joins Investment Firm In Egypt

Hassan Abdel-Hamid has joined Cairo-based Misr Asset Management, the investment bank owned by Misr Insurance Holding Co, as chairman and chief executive, this publication can exclusively reveal.

Abdel-Hamid moved from EFG Bank in Geneva, where he was a first vice president handling high net worth Egyptian and Middle Eastern clients. Before that he was at Barclays Bank Suisse and Ahli United Bank (Egypt).

Established in 2009, MAM handles the liquidity of state-owned insurance companies. Its main areas of expertise are fund management, portfolio management and direct investment management. It manages a $1 billion portfolio of investments.
