European Equity Boutique Recruits Former Investment Firm CEO

A former CEO of Waverton Investment Management and JO Hambro Investment Management has moved to an equities house.

S W Mitchell, the European equity funds specialist, has named Hugh Grootenhuis as its new special advisor and a director of S W Mitchell Capital, the firm’s Irish UCITS fund company.

Grootenhuis was formerly chief executive of Waverton Investment Management and predecessor J O Hambro Investment Management from 2009 to 2015. Prior to joining Waverton, he worked for the Schroder Banking Group for sixteen years in London, Tokyo and Singapore.

S W Mitchell has more than $2 billion of assets under management. The firm, founded in 2005, recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary and currently consists of 16 employees.
