Impax Asset Management Boosts Equity Team

The UK-listed investment manager, which focuses on resource efficiency and environmental markets, has created a senior role.

London-based Impax Asset Management has appointed David Winborne as senior portfolio manager.

He takes on the newly-created role to help run Impax's existing equity strategies while working on new product development. He will report to the firm's head of listed equities, Bruce Jenkyn-Jones.

Winborne previously worked at Tesco Pension Investment, where he helped launch and manage a new global equities investment platform. Before this, he was a fund manager at Sarasin & Partners, where he managed the firm’s Asia-Pacific equity fund.

“David is a key senior hire for Impax. He has an exceptional track record of building and managing global equity portfolios. His experience will be a valuable addition to the listed equity team as we continue to develop our suite of equity products at a time when we are seeing unprecedented interest in our markets from global investors,” said Jenkyn-Jones.

Impax Asset Management manages around £2.9 billion ($4.5 billion) in assets through both listed and private equity strategies.
