John Harris has been appointed the new director general of the Jersey Financial Services Commission. He replaces David Carse, who is retiring. Mr Harris is currently director of international finance for the States of Jersey. From 1998 to 2002, Mr Harris was chief executive of NatWest Offshore with responsibility for offices in Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Gibraltar, Cayman, Bermuda and the Bahamas. He spent 22 years working for NatWest Bank during which time he held management positions in France, Switzerland and Singapore. Mr Harris was recently appointed to the board of Jersey Finance.
