State Street Global Unveils Four New ETFs

State Street Global Advisors, the asset management arm of State Street Corporation, has created four new market-weighted following advanced beta strategies.

State Street Global Advisors has launched four advanced beta equity exchange-traded funds to help investors isolate factors that outperform standard market cap-weighted indices.

The funds are SPDR MSCI Europe Value Weighted UCITS ETF, SPDR MSCI USA Value Weighted UCITS ETF, SPDR MSCI Europe Small Cap Value Weighted UCITS ETF and SPDR MSCI USA Small Cap Value Weighted UCITS ETF.

Listed on the Deutsche Börse, Xetra, the funds measure stocks from the parent indices in terms of sales, book value, earnings and cash earnings. The four-metric methodology allows the MSCI value-weighted indices to subsequently tilt towards stocks with the lowest valuation figures.

“These new funds allow investors to gain exposure to the value premium across large, mid or small-cap exposures in both the US and Europe, while benefiting from the liquidity, transparency and flexibility of ETFs,” said State Street Global Advisors' head of SPDR ETFs for EMEA, Alexis Marinof.

The new additions build the firm's existing advanced beta equity range, which includes five mutual funds and 13 ETFs.

State Street Global Advisors launched its first ETF in 1993 and now manages over $466 billion in over 220 ETFs globally, as of December 31 2014.
