UK Investment Firm Sets Up Hong Kong Office, Appoints Duo
Partners Capital, the London-headquartered investment firm, has set up a Hong Kong branch to take advantage of opportunities in the fast-growing Asian region.
The new office will be led by Janie Chen, who is Mainland Chinese and moves to Hong Kong from the UK office. She is joined by Charlotte Plowman, who joins from SAIL Advisors and is formerly from Goldman Sachs.
Partners Capital was founded in 2001 to serve investment professionals, endowments, foundations and high net worth families worldwide. It employs around 70 people across London, Boston and Hong Kong and has approximately 300 clients with over $7 billion in assets under management. Endowments and foundations advised by the firm include The Cancer Research Institute, The Nobel Foundation and other prominent instutitions and family offices.
According to the latest World Wealth Report by Bank Julius Baer, there are 1.161 million high net worth individuals in Asia in 2010, with the number forecast to rise to 2.821 million by 2015. China alone is expected to have $8.764 trillion in HNWI wealth and 1.4 million affluent individuals by the said year.
