US private equity firm, Warburg Pincus has appointed Jacques Aigrain as a senior advisor, based in its London office.

appointed Jacques Aigrain as a senior advisor, based in
its London office.
Aigran will support the firm in the identification and evaluation
of new investments, particularly in the European financial
services sector, and provide strategic counsel across the firm's
global portfolio, Warburg Pincus said in a statement.
Aigrain has over 30 years of financial services experience and is
currently chairman of clearing house LCH Clearnet Group and
is also a non-executive director of Lyondell Basell, Lufthansa
and WPP. He is also a member of the Financial Institutions
Consultative Group of the IMF. Previously, Aigrain was
chief executive officer of Swiss Re and both co-global head of
M&A and head of Financial Institutions at JP Morgan. He also
has served as chairman of The Geneva Association, the
international insurance industry think tank.
Warburg Pincus has invested more than $6 billion in
financial services businesses around the globe since inception,
including $3.5 billion since 2008. The firm completed an
investment in Santander Asset Management at the end of 2013 and
in January 2014 announced a commitment to acquire a
majority stake in exchange-traded products provider Source.
The firm has more than $37 billion in assets under
management and has raised 13 private equity funds which have
invested more than $48 billion in over 700 companies in
more than 35 countries.
