Waverton Names New Business Development Manager

The London-headquartered investment house has made a senior hire from Standard Life.

The UK's Waverton Investment Management has appointed Ian Coptcoat as a business development manager focusing on financial advisors in the East of England.

He joins after 28 years with Standard Life, where he was part of a team of account managers working with financial advisors in London and the South East. He brings over 30 years’ experience of working with advisors.

In the new position, Coptcoat will work alongside marketing director Mark Barrington and fellow business development manager William Tong to help enhance the firm's relationships with advisors across the UK. He will be based largely in Ipswich, working from the Waverton office in London as and when needed.

“He has significant experience of working alongside financial advisors and supporting them in the delivery of investment solutions to their clients,” said John Bellamy, head of the managed funds service at Waverton.

As at the end of March 2016, Waverton managed around £4.4 billion ($6.4 billion) of assets on behalf of private individuals, trusts, charities, and institutions.
