What's New In Investments, Funds? – BNP Paribas AM, Infrastructure Debt

The latest news in investment offerings, financial products and other services relative to wealth advisors and their clients.

BNP Paribas Asset Management
BNP Paribas Asset Management said its latest infrastructure debt fund has held a first close, drawing in €280 million ($306 million) of commitments.

Called BNP Paribas European Junior Infrastructure Debt Fund II, it follows the first vintage of this junior infrastructure debt fund, which has invested more than €300 million in several dozen European infrastructure projects.

After the deployment of Junior I, this new vehicle will apply the same financing policy and support the energy transition, green mobility and digital infrastructure projects, the asset manager said.

The fund invests in sub investment grade infrastructure debt, in a diversified manner, with a preference for operational assets offering regular coupons and attractive returns. Investments are also checked against ESG analysis.

BNP Paribas AM said the new fund seeks a target size of between €500 million and €750 million and a hard cap set at €1 billion. The weighted average maturity amount target is between six and eight years.

The new fund is managed by the private assets business unit at BNPP AM which, under the management of David Bouchoucha, has more than 100 professionals and more than €40 billion of assets under management and advice as of March 2024.
