Sparrows
Capital, a UK-based investment firm, has appointed Arnie
Millington to oversee its tailored model portfolio service (MPS)
proposition for wealth managers – Sparrows Capital MPS.
Before this, Millington worked at Seven Investment Management
(7IM), running and expanding relationships with advisors and
financial planners across the Midlands and the North West.
He has over 10 years’ experience in the advice and wealth sector
with previous roles at Benchmark Capital and AJ Bell.
Ocorian
Ocorian, a specialist
global provider of fund administration, capital markets,
corporate, trust and regulatory and compliance services, is
expanding its private client team with the appointment of Michael
Harman as commercial director, private client for Ocorian in the
UK, EU and Crown Dependencies.
Previously, Harman was business development manager (EMEA) at Standard Chartered Bank in London and Jersey. His experience includes finance manager and finance broker roles in Hong Kong and Australia.
“Michael brings a wealth of international experience and expertise and will play a key role in supporting the ongoing development of our successful private client business,” Lynda O’Mahoney, global head of business development – private client at Ocorian, said.
Nuveen
Nuveen has named Saira
Malik as head of the Nuveen equities and fixed income platform.
Malik (pictured) is taking over from William Huffman who served
in the role prior to his appointment as CEO in June 2024.
Malik will also continue to serve as Nuveen’s chief investment officer and chair of its global investment committee, bringing together Nuveen's most senior investment leaders to deliver actionable portfolio allocation ideas for its clients.
Additionally, Malik is portfolio manager for $100+ billion in equity strategies. Since joining the firm in 2003, prior to being named CIO, she was head of global equities portfolio management and head of global equities research.
Malik holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and graduated with a BS in economics from California Polytechnic State University and an MS in finance from the University of Wisconsin.
“As a proven leader who has dedicated two decades of her career to the evolution and growth of Nuveen’s platform, Saira is ideally suited to take on leadership of the equities and fixed Income business,” Huffman said.

General has appointed Ashley Fagan as global head of
financial institutions, joining the London distribution
leadership team within its Asset Management division. She will be
responsible for developing the firm’s relationships with global
clients as the business continues to become more international.
Fagan will report to Sarah Aitken, chief client officer, working closely with L&G asset management’s existing distribution leaders globally. She will be supported in delivering the global financial institutions strategy by Chris Massey, deputy global head of financial institutions.
Previously, Fagan spent nearly six years at Amundi. Most recently, she was head of global strategic clients, distribution and wealth, responsible for relationships with key global strategic clients, across different geographies and asset classes including index, ETF and smart beta products and solutions. Fagan will also draw on a wealth of experience gained from 10 years at BlackRock, where she led distribution efforts for iShares ETF and index investing, and her banking experience. She started her career in investment banking in Canada and then in the UK in structured credit CDO/CLO distribution at Barclays Investment Bank.
Fagan is a CFA Charterholder.
