Comgest, a Paris-based
global equity asset manager focused on long-term quality growth,
has just appointed Catriona Marshall as head of sustainable
investment.
Previously, Marshall was head of sustainable finance at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) financial markets division, where she led a team of expert analysts advising countries on sustainable finance. This included developing policy guidance for the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group on best practices to strengthen ESG investing and to finance a climate transition.
Marshall has led the responsible investment and responsible development teams at Comgest since July, the firm said in a statement. With her addition, the two teams have 10 members with an average of 13 years of industry experience.
Marshall’s appointment coincides with Sébastien Thévoux-Chabuel's, Comgest head of responsible investment, departure from the firm to focus on his executive PhD in shareholder engagement. Over the last decade, he has helped to build and refine Comgest’s bottom-up approach to responsible, quality-growth investing and implementing ESG procedures and policies, the firm added. In the meantime, Marshall and Thévoux-Chabuel will work together to ensure a seamless transition.
“As we continue to enhance our ESG capabilities, Catriona’s expertise will be invaluable for the next chapter of our evolving responsible investment journey. Her track record of innovative thinking and effective strategy implementation in sustainable finance will be a major asset to our team in the continuation of our bottom-up approach to ESG integration and the assessment of future risks and opportunities,” Franz Weis, chief investment officer at Comgest, said.
With headquarters in Paris and offices across Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America, Comgest serves a diverse global client base and manages assets of over €29.2 ($32.3) billion.
