The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes among wealth management and related organisations in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and select international locations.

Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment
The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment has appointed Steven McBurnie CFPâ„¢ Chartered FCSI (Financial Planning) as the new chair of the CISI Paraplanner Interest Group (PPIG). McBurnie takes over from Dan Atkinson, who steps down as PPIG chair after five years.

The PPIG is open to all CISI members and non-CISI members who are interested in the profession of paraplanning. The PPIG runs events over the year, with its practitioner committee involved in organising the CISI annual Paraplanner Conference. The group was created by CISI to support paraplanners in the UK and around the globe who wish to network, share ideas, insight and information with other paraplanners.

McBurnie (pictured) is a Certified Financial Plannerâ„¢ professional, a CISI Chartered Fellow (Financial Planning) and a CISI Chartered Wealth Manager. He is a paraplanner with Glasgow based Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie and has been on the CISI PPIG committee for five years.

Carmignac
Paris-based asset manager Carmignac has appointed Naomi Waistell as emerging market portfolio manager, based in London.

Waistell, who will report to Mark Denham, head of equities, will become co-manager of the firm’s Carmignac emerging market strategy under article 9 of the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), alongside Xavier Hovasse, the firm said in a statement. The strategy comprises Carmignac Emergents (French FCP), Carmignac Portfolio Emergents (Luxembourg SICAV) and FP Carmignac Emerging Markets (UK OEIC). The UK fund is not Article 9 as SFDR does not apply to UK domiciled funds.

The pair will be supported by Yunfan Bao, a greater China analyst, Amol Gogate, emerging market equity manager and the wider emerging market and investment team.

Waistell has 15 years’ experience as a portfolio manager and will join Carmignac from Polar Capital, where she has worked since 2020. At Polar Capital, she co-managed a quality-growth emerging market fund. Consistent with Carmignac’s approach of integrating ESG analysis into its investment process, Waistell has also focused on sustainable investing, developing and optimising the approach of the funds she has managed, the firm added. 

Prior to Polar Capital, Waistell worked at Newton Investment Management for a decade managing emerging market, global and European equity funds. Her appointment coincides with the departure of Haiyan Li-Labbé who left the firm at the end of 2024 to pursue a career outside portfolio management.

Crestbridge Family Office Services has promoted four of its Jersey-based team members.

Daniel Cavey, who works with complex structures spanning jurisdictions including Switzerland, Cayman and the US, and Debbie Donaldson, who specialises in supporting the objectives of high net worth Middle Eastern families, have been promoted to senior manager.

Marta Latek, who is responsible for the day-to-day administration of one of the firm’s largest clients, has been promoted to a next level administrator, and Jack Rondel, who provides support for a broad base of clients, has become an administrator.
