Wedlake Bell
City firm Wedlake Bell has appointed Alex Davies to head up the firm's family team. Davies will be joining Wedlake Bell in November, after 12 years at Cripps where he headed up their family team.

Davies' practice covers all aspects of separation and divorce for clients, whether married or cohabiting, including financial remedy, arrangements for children and domestic abuse.

As a lawyer with management experience, his arrival will mark a new chapter for the family team at Wedlake Bell, focusing on growing and developing the team, the firm said in a statement.

“Not only is he an extremely well-regarded family lawyer but his track record of developing teams complements our ambitions here. We look forward to working with closely with Alex and the team as we continue to invest in our strong private client offering,” head of private client, Tom Allfree said.

Marylebone Partners
London-based investment manager Marylebone Partners, the manager of Cayman-domiciled Marylebone Lane Fund, and London-listed Majedie Investments, has just appointed David Cornell as managing director, starting immediately.

Working alongside Dan Higgins, founder and chief investment officer, Cornell will work with the senior management team which sets the company’s direction, the firm said in a statement. He will help identify priority areas for growth, developing investment products, and determining the firm-wide resources needed to achieve Marylebone’s objectives.

Previously, Cornell was a co-founder of Ocean Dial Asset Management, the FCA-regulated specialist India investment firm which managed UK listed India Capital Growth Fund, amongst others. Prior to Ocean Dial, he co-managed New Star’s Institutional Emerging Market Fund and ran the BDT Emerging Market Fund.
