Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? - IQ-EQ, Sienna IM, Tyndall, Others
The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.
IQ-EQ
Global investor services group IQ-EQ this week announced the
appointment of Brian McArthur-Muscroft as its new group chief
financial officer. In this senior position,
McArthur-Muscroft will join the firm’s group management
team and group supervisory board and will contribute to strategic
decision-making.
Prior to joining IQ-EQ, he was CFO for financial intelligence innovator Qontigo, the firm said in a statement. He was also formerly the group CFO for Micro Focus International, a FTSE100 global infrastructure software company.
In addition, he was CFO at Paysafe Group and led the business to a FTSE 250 listing on the LSE Main Market in December 2016, followed by the sale of the business to Blackstone and CVC in 2018. Before Paysafe, he was group finance director at Telecity Group. This news follows the announcement that IQ-EQ’s current group CFO, Eric Fady, will retire at the end of 2023 after almost eight years of service to IQ-EQ. They will work together throughout the remainder of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

Sienna Investment Managers
The board of directors of Sienna
Investment Managers has elected Michael Dobson
non-executive chairman from September. Former chief executive and
chairman of Schroders, Michael Dobson succeeds in his new role
Ian Gallienne, CEO of Groupe Bruxelles Lambert, who remains a
member of the board, the firm said in a statement. This decision
is the next step in Sienna IM’s development, bolstering its
commitment to uphold high standards of governance.
Dobson, 71, brings to Sienna IM four decades of leadership in financial services and board positions, as well as experience providing independent advice to management teams. Following an executive career in the City, he has been non-executive chairman of the UK property group Berkeley since mid-2022. Prior to this, he served as chief executive of Schroders from 2001 to 2016, then Chairman until April 2022.
Previously, he held a number of leadership positions at Deutsche Bank AG, including head of global asset management, head of global investment banking and member of the board of managing directors, as well as at Morgan Grenfell Group.

Tyndall Investment Management
London-based boutique wealth and fund manager Tyndall
Investment Management this week appointed Edward Baring and
Ed Harvey as investment directors within its private client
practice. The latest in a series of appointments to this
division, they join from Walker Crips Investment Management
bringing industry experience to strengthen Tyndall’s investment
team dedicated to private clients and charities.
Before moving to Tyndall, Baring held the position of investment director at Walker Crips Investment Management, having joined the firm in 2012 from Savoy Investment Management, where he was a director. He started his career as a stockbroker at Raphael Zorn Hemsley, subsequently incorporated as Numis, where he worked until his move to Savoy in 2000.
For the last six years, Harvey was also an investment director at Walker Crips Investment Management. Prior to this, he was an investment manager and director at Towry, a position he continued to hold following the firm’s acquisition by Tilney Bestinvest Group in 2016. Ed’s earlier roles include as an investment manager at Ashcourt Rowan, and before that, at Savoy Investment Management, having started his career in equity research at HSBC in 1999.
Alpha FMC
UK-headquartered Alpha
FMC, a global consultancy to the asset management, wealth
management and insurance industries, this week announced two
director hires and personnel changes in the leadership of its UK
wealth management and private banking (wealth) team.
Caroline Burkart and Basak Alhan Aydin join the team as directors, and Kenn Taylor retires after seven years heading the team, the firm said in a statement. Jamie Forrester will take on the interim leadership of the team, pending further hires for 2024.
Burkart, who has experience in consulting and wealth management, joins Alpha as a director. Prior to joining Alpha, she was an associate partner and head of client insight for the UK and Europe at Aon. Before that, she was an executive director at Scorpio Partnership and spent time in industry with Credit Suisse, the firm added.
Aydin joins Alpha as a director, from Capgemini Invent where she was the head of wealth management for the UK, helping global players on their transformation and innovation journeys. She has a track record of delivering strategy, regulatory and digital transformation programmes across the change lifecycle and the value chain as part of Capgemini, Barclays and Accenture. She started her career in financial services as a strategy consultant at Deutsche Boerse in Frankfurt.
Forrester said: “Our UK wealth franchise has experienced considerable growth in demand over the last three years and we are lucky to work with many of the UK’s top tier wealth managers and private banks. The addition of Caroline and Basakfurther strengthens the distribution and specialist delivery capability of the team.”

Ogier's head of estate planning, wills and probate in Jersey,
Henry Wickham, has been promoted to partner.
Wickham, a STEP member, and former chair of STEP Jersey Branch has sat on several consultative bodies relating to Jersey's trust industry. He speaks on a variety of topics within his field and regularly contributes to several publications both locally and further afield.
The legal advice providing law firm now has 108 partners globally. "Henry brings a fresh approach to applying innovation to trust and estate planning and using technology to deliver excellent and efficient client services.", Ogier's global managing partner Edward Mackereth said.
Wickham advises on all aspects of Jersey trusts, foundations and estate planning and related corporate law issues. He is experienced in both local and international will and probate matters and has expertise in the administration of high net worth and multi-jurisdictional estates as well as complex succession planning and will drafting. He also advises in relation to complex restructurings, corporate migrations, and philanthropic structures and, when working with clients who are internationally based, advises on complex private international law issues.
