Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management – Janus Henderson, Crestbridge, Others

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

Janus Henderson
Global asset manager Janus Henderson has appointed Mike Haslam as director of sales enablement. He will report to Simon Hillenbrand, head of the firm's UK retail side and will be part of the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America intermediary distribution team, which is headed up by Ignacio De La Maza. Haslam, who joined the firm on 17 July 2023, is based in London.

In this newly created role, Haslam will work in the EMEA & LatAm sales team to ensure members can effectively speak with distributor clients about its offerings, impart insights and share knowledge.

Haslam, who has more than 25 years' industry experience, was previously at Barclays Wealth where he spent the last 13 years. There, he was responsible for promoting third-party mutual fund offerings, ETFs and in-house funds across fixed interest, equity and commodity funds to bankers across the UK and EMEA. He played a key role in working with Barclays’ investment teams and the private bankers to articulate the investment processes, investment themes and provide insight into their extensive funds buy list.

Most recently Haslam worked there as a private banker. Prior to Barclays he served in product specialist roles at Gartmore, Threadneedle Investments and M&G.

Crestbridge
Crestbridge, a provider of end-to-end specialist administration solutions to global asset managers and institutional investors, has appointed Stacey Moody as a director in its corporate services team as it continues to grow its internationally focused corporate services proposition.

In her new role, Moody will take responsibility for supporting Crestbridge’s global corporate client base, while also working with the senior management team to drive the evolution of the business’s existing suite of services and solutions, the firm said in a statement.

Moody has more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry, during which time she has specialised as a corporate company secretary in Jersey and Australia. Moody is experienced in providing services to a range of organisations, including private equity and real estate funds and stock exchange-listed companies. Prior to joining Crestbridge, she worked in Australia for a global corporate services provider, where she led the Corporate Secretarial Services team.

Moody holds the Diploma in Offshore Finance and Administration from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Canada Life Asset Management
Canada Life Asset Management (CLAM), which oversees a diverse range of long-term investment solutions, has appointed Paul Pugh as head of strategic alliances to join its distribution team.

Reporting to James Stoddart, head of distribution, Pugh will support the growth of Canada Life Asset Management’s sales and distribution across advisory audiences, the firm said in a statement.

Pugh, who brings more than 25 years of experience to his new role, previously worked as head of strategic partnerships at AJ Bell. He held similar positions at Legal & General Investment Management and Premier Asset Management.

Warburg Pincus
Warburg Pincus, the private equity house that invests in sectors including wealth management, has appointed former Evercore senior figure Andrew Sibbald as a managing director and co-head of Europe. 

Sibbald will work with co-head of Europe, René Obermann, based in Berlin. Sibbald will succeed Adarsh Sarma, who will remain a managing director and partner, focusing on his existing portfolio. 

Based in London, Sibbald has been chairman and managing director of Evercore's European investment banking business. He was previously co-founder and senior partner of Lexicon Partners which was acquired by Evercore in 2011. He has more than 35 years of financial services experience. Sibbald has advised on  M&A and corporate finance transactions including recently: Arcmont on its sale to Nuveen; Global Risk Partners on its sale to Brown & Brown; and AA on its sale to Warburg Pincus and TowerBrook Capital. Prior to founding Lexicon Partners in 2000, Sibbald was a managing director at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he led a team specializing in M&A in the financial institutions sector. He was previously a partner in The Phoenix Partnership.

Warburg Pincus’s investments includes Evelyn Partners, the UK wealth management and professional services group. The organisation, which is headquartered in the US, made its first European deal in 1983 and has invested more than $15 billion in more than 130 firms.
