The Hong Kong Monetary Authority says that 12 branches of 11 banks are temporarily closed.
According to the most recent reports to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, 12 branches of 11 banks have been 'affected' [by the continuing unrest in the city, although the website does not say this] and are temporarily closed at the moment. The HKMA is asking banks to resume normal services 'as soon as circumstances permit.' Customers, it says, should pay attention to the relevant banks’ announcements regarding affected branches and ATMs. The HKMA will also publish relevant updates from time to time on its website.
