Pakistan closes down 100 NGOs

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan is continuing its mass-cull of not-for-profit organisations, mostly set up by high-net-worth donors, and so-called non-governmental organisations.
The latest 'century' of disqualified institutions includes 42 foundations, among them the Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Foundation, the Sufna Foundation, the Sarwar Foundation, the Naseem Sattar Foundation, the Mir Khalil ur Rehman Foundation, the Jamila Sultana Foundation and the Chaudhri Mohammad Ali Foundation. The Financial Markets Association of Pakistan is among them also.
