UK financial regulator appoints chief operating officer

Georgina Philippou is to become the new Chief Operating Officer of the UK's Financial Conduct Authority.
The Financial Conduct Authority has appointed Georgina Philippou as chief operating officer.
Philippou has been acting director for enforcement and market oversight and will take up her new job shortly; she has over twenty years’ experience of regulation in the UK.
The appointment now means that all executive director positions within the FCA have been filled following the review of strategy, priorities and ways of working in December 2014. Philippou recently played a star part in the FCA’s approachto hosting the 40th annual International Organization of Securities Commissions Conference in London in June.
