The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has hooked up with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in London to train ten UAE hopefuls to obtain certified qualifications on Fundamentals of Islamic Banking and Finance.
The DFSA selected the ten at a workshop on Islamic finance it hosted last month whose participants came from universities and government bodies from all over the United Arab Emirates. The content of the workshop was developed by CISI and delivered by DFSA's Islamic finance expert. The non-sponsored participants will receive a 50% discount on the examination fees. The DFSA wishes them all the best in their exam. It has a project called the "Dubai the Capital of Islamic Economy" initiative, which is the brainchild of the UAE vice president and prime minister, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
