Bahamas provide more time for submission of AML forms
Chris Hamblin, Editor, London, 1 March 2016
The Compliance Commission of the Bahamas has extended the deadline for the submission of anti-money-laundering/terrorist finance examination forms from 31st March to 30th April.
This extension only applies to 2015 data. The commission is at pains to point out that its usual deadline for the submission of these forms will remain at 31st March each year.
Financial institutions should remember that before an AML/TF on-site examination begins, the relevant accountant must obtain a letter of appointment from the commission, authorising him to conduct AML/CFT on-site inspections on the regulator's behalf.
