Conference on the SEC's extraterritorial reach coming to London
Chris Hamblin, Editor, London, 8 March 2017
The US Securities and Exchange Commission's regulations do not only have to be obeyed within American borders. A conference (and associated workshops) will take place on the subject in London on 22-23 June.
The conference will feature a battery of current and former top SEC officials and will look at the nuances of current and pending US regulation and legislation.
Mark Berman, the founder of CompliGlobe, will be officiating. His advisory firm helps hedge funds, investment managers, issuers, regulators and multi-national banks and brokers in Europe and Asia with SEC practice outside the United States and cross-border regulatory, compliance and AML matters. He started off as a lawyer at the SEC himself.
Sara Cortes, Pete Driscoll, Scott Friestad, Barbara Jacobs and Carol McGee of the SEC will speak, as will Rachel Sturgeon, the senior manager of investigations at the National Futures Association, and her colleague Regina Theole. Details are available at http://www.secregulation.co.uk
