Janus hires new compliance supremo

Janus Henderson Investors, the active asset management firm, is to appoint Georgina Fogo, the global head of compliance at Blackrock, to its executive committee as chief risk officer.
Ms Fogo will join the firm on 2 July and will oversee and develop the firm's risk and compliance functions all over the world. She will be based in the firm’s London headquarters. The firm is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the Australian Securities Exchange. It has approximately £274.1 billion in assets under management, more than 2,000 employees and offices in 27 cities in various parts of the globe.
The top brass at Janus Henderson Investors have favoured her above other candidates for the job for her good risk management credentials and an impressive track record in building and overseeing global risk and compliance platforms.
She has more than 15 years of experience in asset management and compliance and has led large global teams, dealing with both European and US regulatory environments. David Kowalski retired as Janus Henderson Investors' chief risk officer last year.
