Ian Mason snapped up by Gowling
Chris Hamblin, Editor, London, 4 May 2018
The international law firm of Gowling WLG has strengthened its global tax and funds division with the appointment of regulatory guru Ian Mason as the head of its UK Financial Services and Regulatory team.
With more than 20 years' experience, including a spell as the Head of Department in the Enforcement Division at the old Financial Services Authority, he has just finished a lengthy stint as a partner at DLA Piper. Gowling expects its regulatory team to grow in number under his command.
Mason has long been one of the UK's most eminent regulatory lawyers, with both contentious and diverse advisory experience under his belt. He was a financial services partner at other international law firms between 2006, when he left the FSA, and 2012, when he joined DLA. We wish him well in his new post.
