New GRC course to open in London
Chris Hamblin, Editor, London, 21 November 2018
The European Institute of Management and Finance, an education provider that specialises in finance, governance, risk and compliance for the professional services sector, and Complyport, a London-based consultancy that offers governance, risk and compliance services, have come together to offer a training package.
The new partnership will provide compliance people and executives from elsewhere in financial firms with British and European regulatory updates and information about their technical and practical application. A spokesman for Complyport told Compliance Matters that the course will teach compliance officers "practical things that they can put into practice the next day."
One of the trainers is to be Roger Miles, a visiting lecturer at Cambridge University whose expertise covers the vexed topics of 'conduct' and 'culture' at financial firms. He will talk also about ways in which a bank's compliance department and human resources department can work in tandem to communicate with front-office staff about compliance. Other trainers will come from the EIMF. There will be interactive exercises, discussions, case studies and e-learning.
The first sessions will happen on 4th and 7th December in London, with more to come next year.
