DLA Piper to establish regulatory practice in Dublin
Chris Hamblin, Editor, London, 14 May 2019
The City law firm of DLA Piper is to appoint Caoimhe Clarkin as a litigation and regulatory partner in its offices in Dublin.
Clarkin will be joining the firm in August. At present she works at A&L Goodbody, taking part in compliance and regulatory investigations and handling cases in the Irish Commercial Court. She advises domestic and international clients about litigation in the financial services arena. Her work touches on investment funds, insurance, mergers/acquisitions (which often reveal compliance problems in abundance), disputes between shareholders, directors’ and auditors’ liability, product liability, data privacy and cyber-crime. She has acted for clients from all over the world in investigations by Irish and other regulators.
Another DLA partner has said: "Caoimhe's hire establishes DLA Piper's litigation and regulatory offering in the Irish market, reinforcing the largest dedicated regulatory, compliance and disputes practice globally. Caoimhe brings strong client relationships in Ireland. This is an excellent development for our global clients with an Irish presence or connection, particularly as Brexit unfolds and presents significant opportunities in the region."
She is thought to have a deep knowledge of the Irish legal market. She is the seventh partner that DLA has arranged to in Dublin this year.
