RWC Partners, the British asset management business, has appointed a new Head of Legal and Compliance.

Huan Ke has more than 19 years of experience and is leaving Macquarie Asset Management to take up his new post. At Macuarie he spent eight years as Head of Legal (EMEA) for the Macquarie Investment Management and Macquarie Private Credit business divisions and was responsible for managing legal matters for the two businesses while also handing out advice about such regulatory development as the European Union's second Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and Alternative Investment Fund Managers' Directive.

Before Macquarie, he worked at Eden Rock Capital Management and Financial Risk Management, having worked previously at the law firm of Clifford Chance.

In his new job, Huan Ke will be based at RWC’s London office and oversee the firm's legal and compliance-related functions throughout the globe. Dan Mannix, his new CEO, appointed him because of his experience of jurisdictions and asset classes that are vital to the firm's future.

RWC's assets under management have grown to $18 billion. Earlier this year it acquired the investment team of London-based Agilis Investment Management, enabling it to offer a diversified return strategy to its HNW clients.
