Ex-global compliance supremo opts for quieter life
Chris Hamblin, Editor, London, 31 October 2019
Ten months after his retirement as Schroders' global head of compliance with responsibility for 30 countries, Jonathan Jesty has joined the wholly-owned subsidiary of a small 50-strong personal investment management firm based in the Scottish settlement of Haddington.
The firm is McInroy and Wood Portfolios Ltd, a subsidiary of McInroy and Wood Ltd, which was established in 1986 at the time of the Big Bang and administers various funds and a platform. Most of the parent firm's staff are in Haddington in East Lothian, outside Edinburgh, but it has a presence in the London borough of Mayfair, Harrogate and Aberdeenshire. The subsidiary also has its registered office in Haddington.
Jesty has worked in the City for more than 35 years, specialising mainly in asset management and investment funds. He recently retired as Global Head of Compliance at Schroders, a job he held for eight years, having previously been in professional services as a regulatory and risk advisory and audit partner at KPMG and a director at the compliance consultancy of Protiviti. He is now exploring interesting non-executive, advisory and not-for-profit opportunities.
