International compliance task force of law firms comes into being
Chris Hamblin, Editor, London, 19 December 2019
A law firm has been chosen as the British arm of Concilium Global Compliance, a new international alliance of law firms and lawyers offering cross-border representation in matters involving corporate compliance and internal investigations.
Concilium Global Compliance, Investigations & Defence Network officially came into being this week. With cross-border investigations and government enforcement actions becoming increasingly common around the world, Concilium hopes to allow multinational businesses to find counsel qualified to provide seamless representation across national boundaries.
Concilium Network counts 15 international law firms as members and intends to expand into other jurisdictions, subject to a vetting process.
The firms in the Concilium Network include:
Advokatfirmaet Selmer (Norway);
Blake, Cassels & Graydon (Canada);
Creel Garcia-Cuéllar Aiza y Enriquez (Mexico);
FieldFisher (UK);
FeldensMadruga (Brazil);
Foley & Lardner (USA);
J Chan, Yip, So & Partners (China);
Kammeradvokaten / Poul Schmith (Denmark);
Navacelle Law (France);
Panag & Babu (India);
Posse Herrera Ruiz (Colombia);
Preda Del Puerto & Asociados (Paraguay);
Raczkowski Paruch (Poland);
Schellenberg Wittmer (Switzerland); and
SvS Rechtsanwälte (Germany).
Through this alliance, clients will have access to counsel when facing cross-border problems that involve compliance. The founders of the alliance say that the world has never been smaller from a law enforcement perspective. All lawyers in the network speak English and are reachable at www.conciliumglobal.net.
