The Securities and Exchange Board of India, in tandem with the Reserve Bank of India, has raised the amount of money that an Alternative Investment Fund and/or a Venture Capital Fund can invest overseas from US$750 million to US$1,500 million.
All other regulations that govern such overseas investments by eligible AIFs and VCFs are to remain unchanged. These are to be found in SEBI Circulars No SEBI/VCF/CIR No 1/98645/2007, dated August 09 2007, CIR/IMD/DF/7/2015, dated October 01 2015, and SEBI/HO/IMD/DF1/CIR/P/2018/103/2018, dated July 3 2018.
